Honesty

Honesty is something I can say I super value… and when people lie to me I take it as the greatest offence. I do not understand why it is so hard to say the truth I mean if you do not want to do something just say so, no one is obligated to do anything for other. It also frustrates me when some one lies and it’s so obvious that they do not even spend time embellishing it is as if they think I am so stupid that I am bound to believe any thing they say. Lies are irrelevant ad retarded how dare someone asks to be trusted if you know for a fact that they have not been honest. They try to gain our sympathy and make it seem like we are cold but I do not care you lie to me and there is no more I hope to gain from you.

this is another article i wrote for the school news paper ... had fun writting this section hope you enjoy reading it :)

HOROSCOPE - Aurelio Sanchez

Sagittarius (November 22^nd- December 21^st): it’s all about the power of a message for you Sagittarian … news is many times welcomed when it is good... But not this week … your challenge will be in how to cope with unwanted news… be patient and don’t run away… persevere Sagi  :]. .. That way you will get what you deserve. :]

Capricorn (December 22^nd-January 19^th): Not such a good start to your week dear Capricorn… it seems as though that -male figure- you have been putting all your hope in...Well... he will let you down… but let’s not dwell for too long, there are signs pointing to two dependable figures coming your way... One male and one female… the female figure will offer love while the male figure brings fortune and luck... Not such a great start to your week... but things are sure to get better...

Aquarius (January20th - February 18^th): New flavours… New activities… this week it’s all about stepping out of your comfort zone… your week seems to bring much welcoming of new ideas… especially when it comes to giving the underdog a chance... that person you have been doubting whether you should take a chance on .. This week is saying give it a go… nothing but positivity can come from making a new friend or strengthening the bond you have...

Pisces (February 19^th- March 20^th): your week is not going to be dramatic or overbearing which to most this is a good thing... there seems to be signals pointing to a female figure that will bring you some luck embrace this blessing for she means good… although she will bring luck you will not see the results immediately and so just show her appreciation and things are bound to flow right…

Aries ( March  21^st - April 19^th): Trust in her!… the female figure in your life will prove to be the best person to be with right now… she will offer love hope and a new outlook on life… as for the male figure in your life.. Virgo (August 23^rd - September 22^nd): Virgo … Virgo… Virgo!  Boy o boy … LOVE that’s the issue at hand right now…. Pertaining to the male figure love seems to be very dominant… meaning … who ever the male figure is...he  has a great deal of love in him and its yours… when it comes to the female figure this love is present however not over ridding .. Give it time …. But with every up there is a down …. It seems that there is a great obstacle headed your way… no worries love will help you out this time...

Libra (September 23- October 22^nd): patience will prove to be very useful this week…. There is a big warning going out to you and it involves your anxiousness to get answers and to take action… pause Libra… slow down a bit…..if you rush your results may not be quite desirable.

Check Them Out - Aurelio Sanchez

If you are reading this, the title “Check Them Out” has probably wrapped its suction like arms around your mind and for that reason I am forced to deliver an article worth reading. The role this article plays is like the one of a magnifier, where a subject’s features are enhanced at such a magnitude it allows greater analysis. By the end of this story you will have met two students with phenomenal attributes that earns them great appreciation.

 With that let’s focus on the first student, Gianni Alamilla. Gianni or “Gi” for short is a seventeen year old Chemistry and Biology major who aspires to be a doctor. He was brought to my attention in a very familiar way. I was standing around with a bunch of friends when Gianni passed by, directly after the murmuring began. Usually when you hear a student is being talked about or their name mentioned it is usually followed by wild stories of partying, this was not the case for Gianni. He was being praised by my friends for his generous and “sweet” personality, and due to that I believed that he deserves a closer look. Most students struggle to develop a good reputation and here this seventeen year old walks in and establishes a reputation as one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. The kindness he demonstrates comes in several forms, like giving out friendly smiles or even waiting with a friend and offering support. Oh! Not to mention as one anonymous friend mentioned he is also a really good dance partner.  Keep it up Gi we greatly appreciate the good you signify.

Now it may seem a bit intentional that the next student is also a Chemistry and Biology major, but I assure you this is completely coincidental. When many students think of kind, sweet or bubbly the name Tammy Tate comes up. Tammy is a member of the B.I.O.N.I.C Club and the Student Council, where she carries out her duties everyday showing others warmth and friendliness. It is simply refreshing and relaxing to be around such a vibrant personality, Tammy puts extra thought in the things she say, being careful not to offend. She is also a person who can be trusted due to the great value she gives to being respectful and true to her word.

These students have broke free of societal norms that demand a certain degree of notoriousness and have chose to act in a way that in my opinion is lacking in our community.

Purple Joy

It is important for people to understand that every human has the right to be happy… On Spirit Day … the souls of those who have committed suicide due to being bullied because of homosexuality… To show our respect Karamelo’s Cupcakes dropped its prices and sold a purple swirl cupcake the official color of spirit day…

So in the last note I explained where my love for baking came from and how it shapes what I do...... that then led to what many of you know today as KARAMELO'S CUPCAKES...... ten years ago I would not have known that I would be selling cupcakes at school and to those who really like my work.... my sisters had a better guess that this would happen though... when I was younger I had different types of businesses... I had super successful yard sales ... and my first business being the selling of sweets I collected at parties....however KARAMELO’S CUPCAKES is more than a business decision...

The Name..... KARAMELO

The name of this business came about because of several things......firstly the name can be thought of as made from two main words   Karissa +  Lelo Caramelo  ........ 
 

Karissa Guerrero, is a realllly good friend of mine, I met her in my first year of SJCSLA ... (August 2008)   And has proven to be one of the most loyal, trustworthy, and sweetest person I have come to know... not only that.. SHE BAKES!!! .... Karissa is really interested in the culinary arts, and I strongly believe she is capable of being an amazing chef....good luck Kar!!!

Lelo Caramelo, (Aurelio Sanchez) this is a nick name that was stuck on me from high school.... lelo was a family name that one of my classmates heard when my uncle was talking to me ....... the caramelo part got attached due to the fact that it means sweets.... in high school I was known as a sugar addict ....always hyper and always bringing enough candy to share with the class.... I was known for baking and making food to take to school and shared with my class (in an all boys school --- food is like gold) 

Knowing how the name came about will help you to understand a bit more about what the business is about....   this project is a way for us to do several things.... 1...  Karissa gets practice should she go to culinary school.....    2.. I get to work with an awesome friend doing what I love… the money we collect from the cupcakes goes towards more ingredients so we can continue experimenting and providing our school with something new and exciting  all the time :) 

Hello from Lelo

From time to time we find things we are interested in, but often enough our interest fades.... For me baking is not one of these things. As a child I was surrounded by baking, a part from all my mom's arts and craft projects she picked up, she also baked and decorated cakes for weddings and other occasions... It was baking, baking, baking, and the smell of cakes in the air all the time... My interest in cakes began with me staying up late in the night with my mom simply observing (and occasionally catching the pieces of cake cut off for levelling).... Little by Little I picked up the names of certain ingredients and techniques...I understood the difference between using a spoon to stir and a fork to whip. My mother is somewhat of a control freak when it comes to baking, so when she finally decided to let me sieve sugar or separate eggs, I was thrilled. I slowly started to bake things on my own; beginning with a plain yellow cake… this cake sealed the deal for me... It married me to baking forever.  This cake was soft and perfect… I had succeeded at my first try, but not only that,  I loved the idea that I created something…  I was the one who did it… all on my own… and the smiles and stuffed tummies….  I did that.     

My baking however has now taken a new form… I am now focusing on Cupcakes :) … I have always liked cupcakes, due to the fact that it was the same cake I loved…  but can be shared easier. Each cupcake demands a certain amount of care which I don’t mind giving.  Cupcakes make me excited, when talking about it my eyes double in size and I get filled with adrenaline… my closer friends are already use to this side of me and now find it simply entertaining. ... 

The love I have for baking is not one I shy away from... Instead I nourish it… I keep practicing and keep loving everything I do … baking keeps me happy … and my baking keeps other’s tummies happy.. so what more can I really ask for?
